Who We Are StoriesWork is a non-profit 501-C-3 tax-exempt organization with headquarters in Durham, North Carolina. Our Executive Director pioneered Therapeutic Storytelling - the use of folk story analysis for empowering abused women, and we offer training to domestic violence staff/volunteers, the medical/psychiatric profession; the legal profession and private practitioners. Our Board of Directors and Advisory Board are composed of professionals with specialties in domestic violence, psychotherapy, social work, public health, curriculum design, computer use, web site design, folklore, editorial services, public relations, business management, and law. StoriesWork presents educational sessions in colleges and high schools, at women’s groups and for the general public and offers an art exhibit of worldwide posters about women’s rights and ending violence against women.
